Intelligent Interface for the web
The S-3720 uses the Internet (or intranet) to collect distributed
information from systems and appliances connected to it via local
serial interfaces. Transmission of status, error reports and alarms
is made possible with minimum installation effort. It is possible
to connect to central servers as well as individual mobile or stationary
devices. The integrated GSM communication module allows usage in all
areas with 900 or 1800 MHz network coverage.
Built-in security prevents unauthorized access. The S-3720 contains
a powerful operating system, which allows simultaneous control and
monitoring of multiple appliances via serial protocols. A 2 wire RS-485
interface and a TTL RS-232 interface are operated simultaneously.
The modular design of the operating system supports the implementation
of proprietary protocols.
Multi-purpose device
The Setrix S-3720 combines these outstanding capabilities in a single,
compact device. The acquired data is analyzed, compressed and logged
locally by a powerful processor. Should an alarm condition be met,
one or more targets are contacted
over the GSM mobile phone network. All data and event information
is accessible on-demand. A flexible access right, authorization and
encryption
mechanism protects the data. Built-in non-volatile storage capacities
of up to 1 GB are available. If required, a local Web server can be
activated to handle both remote and local requests. This enables powerful
user interfaces on stationary or mobile terminal devices like PC,
mobile phone or PDA (Personal Digital Assistant).
Smart Appliance Management
Setrix S-3720 is designed as an autonomous system with high computing
power and minimal energy consumption. The state-of-the-art hardware
components and a reliable operating system provide flawless nonstop
operation. Setrix S-3720 can be installed with minimal effort. The
extensive use the web technology allows centralized administration
of large numbers of Setrix S-3720. The individual configuration of
individual Setrix S-3720 is possible.
Communication makes it all
Typical applications for Setrix S-3720 are: distributed monitoring
of applications with respect to operation status, error condition
and energy consumption, remote control of furnaces and air conditioners
as well as data logging and dedicated tasks in facility management.
Setrix S-3720 provides the needed function-alities. Up to three independent
communication channels can be used at the same time (see Detail at
right). The application and the user can define when and how the data
is transmitted. Data transfer is triggered internally or externally.
Networking elements are other peer Setrix S-3720, stationary or mobile
communication devices (PC, phone, fax), or supervisory control and
messaging systems. Setrix S-3720 provides tailored,
solution matching and low-cost telecommunication
structures to collect distributed information. |
